Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments and manage the referral and admission process in the Grand Rapids area. Under the supervision of the Intake Director, the Intake RN will coordinate with physicians, families, and unit staff to ensure appropriate care levels.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing required.
• Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• License: Registered Nurse RN license issued by the State of Michigan required.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate the referral and intake process, facilitate the admission process and maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.
• Collaborate with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
• Coordinate with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.
