Job summary

Heywood Healthcare Inc. seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Admissions Coordinator to review referrals for inpatient psychiatry, coordinate crisis evaluations, and confirm insurance coverage for admitted patients.

You will upload records to PCC, support transitions from ER to inpatient care, and work closely with BH teams, ED staff, and medical departments while ensuring privacy and compliance. This per diem role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with EMR

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred or equivalent lived experience with behavioral health navigation.
At least 2 years of case management experience preferred, plus 2 years in behavioral health.
Familiarity with EMR systems and the Point Click Care platform preferred.

Responsibilities

Screen referrals for patients awaiting placement to inpatient psychiatric units.
Manage crisis evaluations dispositioned for inpatient level of care to ensure timely placement.
Verify active insurance and obtain authorizations when required.
Upload ER patient records to Point Click Care for inpatient bed searches.
Collaborate with BH clinical team, ED, and medical departments through admission paperwork.
Maintain timely EMR documentation and protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
