Job summary

Heywood Healthcare is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to provide crisis evaluation, therapy, and care coordination within the ED and related settings. The role involves delivering therapeutic interventions and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely care.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, MA licensure (LICSW/LMHC), and 3–5 years of experience in psychiatric populations, with per diem hours that vary to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social services, counseling, psychology or related field.
• Massachusetts LICSW or LMHC licensure required.
• Three to five years working with psychiatric populations.
• Experience with ED, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis evaluations and referrals, and individual/family/group therapy to patients in ED.
• Deliver brief interventions and support medical, behavioral health, and psychosocial care teams.
• Document clearly and timely per departmental and regulatory standards.
• Perform discharge planning, care transitions, and utilization review activities.
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and community agencies; ensure timely care.
