Job summary

Gersh Autism in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work directly with students aged 5-21 under supervision of a BCBA. You will provide one-on-one instruction, behavioral support, and social skills training to help students achieve individualized goals.

This position requires a current RBT certification and strong communication skills. The role involves implementing BIPs/IEPs, collecting data, collaborating with staff, and maintaining

Qualifications

• Current RBT certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with ASD or in special education settings.
• Ability to implement BIPs and collect data under BCBA guidance.
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Patient, flexible and committed to helping students with special needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans and IEPs as developed by the BCBA.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support in classroom settings.
• Collect and record data on student behaviors and progress with accuracy.
• Assist in teaching strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral development.
• Use behavior management techniques to decrease challenging behaviors.
• Support daily living skills and independence-building tasks.
• Collaborate with staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and BCBA supervision.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all duties.
