Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is hiring a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs.

You will work under a multidisciplinary team to implement PBIS and behavior plans, monitor progress, and foster a positive learning environment. Requirements include a high school diploma and experience with behavioral interventions; college experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with behavioral interventions for students with intensive needs.
• Ability to stay calm and positive in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with diverse developmental backgrounds in school settings.
• Monitor and document behavior and progress toward goals.
• Assist in implementing behavior support plans and PBIS strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure safety.
• Provide supportive supervision in classrooms and transition areas.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis management if needed.
• Encourage inclusive, positive social and behavioral development.
• Contribute to debriefings after challenging events and share insights.
• Foster effective communication with parents and caregivers.
