Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs in in-district classrooms or standalone schools.

You will work one-on-one toward goals in students’ IEPs, provide accommodations, and help develop and modify behavior support plans while tracking progress data. Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in an educational setting implementing behavioral interventions for students with intensive behavioral needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with diverse students from varying backgrounds.
• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals with accommodations.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors and progress.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain safety.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure they are monitored during transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
