Job summary

AHRC Nassau is seeking a Master’s-level Behavior Intervention Specialist to provide behavioral health services within Day Program settings. Under supervision of a Sr. BIS or licensed psychologist, you will promote the agency mission and support individuals to achieve personal growth and social engagement.

The role emphasizes intervention design, ongoing support, and collaboration with the psychology team to enhance quality of life for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology required.
• 1-3 years experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Behavioral health services and positive behavioral supports are provided to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in the Day Program settings by Masters level Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS)

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Provide beahviroal support services designed to maximize the intellectual, social, and emotional development and functioning of individuals receiving services under the supervision of a Sr. BIS or Assistant Director of Psychology and Ph.D. licensed psychologist. Practices and promotes the agency mission statement in every interaction. Provide ongoing support to people in becoming active participants in every aspect of their lives and to ensure that a high quality of life is maintained.
