Job summary

Birch Family Services in Cambria Heights, NY seeks a full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to oversee clinical programming across residential and day habilitation settings. The role requires advanced degrees and hands-on experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, plus expertise in behavioral assessments and plan development.

The BIS will train staff, develop and monitor behavior support plans, attend meetings, and coordinate with the Psychology Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology or behavior analysis with clinical training.
• At least five years of related experience in developmental disabilities.
• OPWDD-approved training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
• BCBA certification or NYS license as an alternative.
• Master’s level knowledge of behavioral assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision to residential or day habilitation staff.
• Develop and monitor behavior support plans and data collection.
• Lead staff trainings and participate in team meetings and committees.
• Coordinate with Psychology Coordinator and program leadership on treatment plans.
• Ensure confidentiality and adherence to OPWDD policies and procedures.
