Job summary

AHRC Nassau in Plainview, NY seeks a licensed psychology services professional to deliver clinical interventions and assessments under supervision. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in clinical or treatment psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology.
• At least 3 years’ experience with developmental disabilities and behavior support plans.
• Experience supervising and training others in plan implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, collateral, group, on-site, and off-site clinical interventions per plan.
• Conduct diagnostic and behavioral assessments including FBAs and adaptive behavior.
• Develop and monitor behavior support plans and dementia guidelines with follow-up.
• Monitor progress, analyze data, and modify plans as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and follow-up assessments for urgent needs.
• Deliver staff training on Positive Behavior Supports and plan implementation.
• Participate in professional development and agency trainings (PBS, FBAs, POM, CQL).
• Maintain clinical records, complete reviews, and receive supervision from licensed staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in case conferences.

Job description

Overview

Provides comprehensive behavioral health and clinical support services to individuals by conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized support plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to maximize the intellectual, social, and emotional development and functioning of people supported under the supervision of Assistant Director of Psychology Services and Ph.D. licensed psychologist.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, collateral, group, on-site, and off‑site clinical interventions in accordance with established support plans.
• Conduct diagnostic and behavioral assessments, including evaluations of adaptive behavior, emotional functioning, mental status, preference assessments, and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor behavior support plans, monitoring plans, and dementia guidelines, ensuring appropriate follow‑up, documentation, and plan implementation.
• Monitor individual progress, review and analyze data, prepare summaries for providers as requested, and modify support plans when indicated.
• Provide crisis intervention and follow‑up assessments to address immediate behavioral and clinical needs.
• Deliver staff training and education on Positive Behavior Supports, also supports the effective implementation of created behavior support plans.
• Participate in required professional development and agency training, including Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Person‑Centered Outcome Measures (POM), Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) standards, and other required agency trainings.
• Maintain clinical records and documentation, complete required reviews, and participate in regular supervision with a Licensed Psychologist and/or Assistant Director/Clinical Supervisor.
• Collaborate and communicate with interdisciplinary teams, including participation in case conferences, meetings, and consultations to support coordinated service delivery.
• Promote and monitor workplace safety compliance, reporting unsafe conditions or practices to appropriate leadership, and perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Level 1 BIS: Must have master’s degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology.
• At least 3 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.
