Chimes in Baltimore seeks a dedicated behavioral support professional to help develop and implement behavior plans for students with intellectual and behavioral challenges. You will work with IEP teams, BCBA supervision, and school staff to promote safe, least-restrictive interventions.

Qualifications

• Proper English usage, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation.
• Understanding of ABA methodologies used to address needs of children with behavioral challenges, including autism.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
• Familiarity with Maryland COMAR and applicable directives for special education.
• Knowledge of data analysis, assessment procedures, including functional analysis and observation.
• Ability to track data, manage records, and generate reports (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of FBA and BIP with input from IEP team to reduce challenging behaviors.
• Collect and monitor documentation regarding incidents, interventions, BIPs, and fade plans.
• Assist in behavioral training of classroom staff and transportation personnel.
• Monitor use of intervention strategies and provide ongoing feedback.
• Obtain and maintain training in Behavioral Intervention & Support (BPS).
• Participate in school-based meetings (PBIS, TBS, Team Share).
• Assist in maintaining COMAR regulations.
• Analyze behavioral data to suggest strategies to fade additional adult support.
• Meet regularly with BCBA and PA for continuity of services.
• Promote inter- and intra-agency communications for student transitions to Adult Services.
• Use approved crisis intervention techniques in emergencies.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings.
• Use technology for job duties.
• Attend work regularly per schedule and agency policy.
• Work cooperatively with staff and the public.
• Assume other duties and special projects as needed.
• Provide supervision for students working towards a BCBA.
