Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers in Colorado is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program, and to promote positive relations with community and school clientele.

The role focuses on enforcing licensing requirements, supervising students, maintaining safety, and helping to develop quality programming, with opportunities to contribute ideas for enrichment and field trips.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Leader must have either 3+ months (455 hours) of verified care experience or a valid Early Childhood Credential Level I+ (version 3.0).
• Annual minimum: 15 clock hours of training from June 1 to May 31.
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.
• Some leadership and management skills.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
• Supervises and engages with students during program times.
• Maintains excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff, and coworkers.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the before/after care and full-day programs.
• Participates in required professional development trainings.
• Assists in implementing quality lesson plans for days the program operates.
• Assists with maintenance, storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities and program quality.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full-day programming.
• Attends monthly program staff meetings as required.
