Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program. The role focuses on building strong relationships with families and school staff while ensuring quality programming.

You will help supervise students, enforce licensing requirements, and contribute to lesson planning and program improvement. This on-site position requires leadership, reliable communication, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least three months of verified care and supervision experience with four or more children.
• Or a current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I or higher (Version 3.0).
• Minimum 15 clock hours of training per year (June 1 – May 31).
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.
• Some leadership and management skill.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
• Directly supervises and engages with students during program times.
• Maintains open communication with parents, students, school staff and district personnel.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the program for before, after care and full days.
• Attends and participates in professional development trainings as required.
• Assists in implementing quality lesson plans and may help create plans.
• Assists with maintenance, storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities and program quality.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full-day programming.
• Attends monthly program staff meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
