Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part‑time Y BASE Instructor for the West Suburban YMCA in Wauwatosa, WI. You will coordinate daily activities, ensure a safe and nurturing environment, and help school‑aged children learn and play before and after school.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, SIDS (if applicable), Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification, and additional non-credit coursework.
• Prior experience in a licensed early learning program is preferred.
• Must have a sincere interest and ability to work with children from diverse populations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Serve as a role model to staff and participants.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children.
• Maintain participant records and documentation.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces.
• Uphold emergency procedures and communicate concerns to the supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
