Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Quality Engineer for Battery Energy Systems in a high paced manufacturing setting in South Carolina. You will drive customer quality initiatives, manage PPAP processes, and lead problem solving across cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of core quality tools, experience with IATF16949, and ability to mentor teams in quality methodologies. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Engineering discipline.
• 5 years’ experience required; equivalent industry experience possible.
• Knowledge of manufacturing problem solving (8-D) and core quality tools.
• Proficient in Control Plans, Process Flow, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
• Experience with IATF16949 standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all quality-related activities for customer product introductions within APQP.
• Ensure PPAP target dates are met and PPAP documents are submitted to customers.
• Lead problem solving, risk assessments, and containment actions.
• Coach cross-functional teams in quality systems and tools.
• Monitor processes to ensure product conformance and support external audits.
• Lead FPY improvements and scrap reduction initiatives.
• Approve product and process changes to maintain customer requirements.
