Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing/Quality Engineering leader to oversee daily quality and engineering support on the shop floor in Illinois. You will drive improvements with cross-functional teams to cut costs, boost quality, and maximize customer satisfaction.

You will lead new product introductions, guide APQP/NPDP activities, and manage equipment utilization, safety, and documentation while presenting findings to customers and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing/quality engineering principles.
• Willing to travel with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day quality and manufacturing engineering support in production areas.
• Identify improvements with manufacturing teams to reduce product cost and improve quality.
• Ensure safety, quality, capability and utilization of equipment and processes.
• Lead new product introductions and product modifications on the manufacturing floor.
• Lead problem-solving using 8D, 5 Why, A3 and similar methodologies.
• Coordinate capacity analyses and tooling/AR expenditures.
• Support APQP/NPDP with selections of special characteristics for products and processes.
• Prepare and present to customers and management.
