Job summary
BorgWarner in Seneca, SC is seeking a Controls Engineer to design electrical and control systems for manufacturing operations, improve production efficiency, and support robots and automation within the Drivetrain Systems AWDE organization. You will collaborate with engineering managers, draft diagrams, program PLCs, and troubleshoot equipment while ensuring safety standards and quality.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 0–2 years experience are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; electrical/computer emphasis preferred.
- 0–2 years experience in controls engineering, programming, robotics.
- Proficient with Siemens PLC & HMI programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Kuka robots and Keyence vision systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical design and OSHA/NFPA safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical and control systems for automation.
- Design diagrams for robot connections and controllers.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair controls and devices.
- Program plant floor data interfaces and traceability.
- Lead installation support and verify electrical signals.
- Collaborate with other groups and write work instructions.
