Job summary

BorgWarner Arden campus is hiring a 1st Shift Automation and Controls Technician to bridge engineering and production on the CNC and assembly floor. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and process improvements across automation projects.

You will troubleshoot, program PLCs, develop HMIs/SCADA, and support commissioning of automation equipment. Strong collaboration with engineers and vendors is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate engineering degree from an accredited technical program is required.
• Courses or vocational training in electronics, controls, or engineering are a plus.
• 3+ years of experience on a manufacturing floor with technical issues and material flow preferred.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA development, and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).
• Experience with vision systems, robotics, and mechatronic systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between engineering and production, supporting safety, quality, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, vendors, and customers to ensure communication and satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues on lines and automation equipment.
• Assist design, development, and programming of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA under engineering guidance.
• Support commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
