Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to grow our building automation and HVAC controls business. This role blends technical BAS/DDC knowledge with business development, estimating, and customer relationship management.

You’ll collaborate with contractors, engineers, facility teams, and owners to identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and secure new installation or retrofit projects. Strong communication and the ability to read drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in building automation or related technical sales.
• Strong BAS/BMS and DDC knowledge.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and specs.
• Experience developing project estimates and proposals.
• Excellent customer-facing communication.
• Willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Develop new opportunities for BAS, HVAC controls, DDC, retrofit, and service projects.
• Build relationships with mechanical/general contractors, engineers, facility managers, and owners.
• Review drawings, sequences of operation, and controls requirements.
• Help determine project scope, system requirements, and controls solutions.
• Prepare estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Present building automation solutions and recommendations to customers.
• Negotiate project scope, pricing, and terms.
• Maintain an active pipeline and provide sales forecasts.
• Partner with engineering, estimating, project management, and operations teams.
• Ensure smooth transition from award to execution.
• Develop long-term customer relationships and repeat business.
