Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Building Automation Applications Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design and support HVAC control solutions for commercial facilities. You will translate project requirements into BAS/DDC software, coordinating with managers, programmers, technicians, and customers to deliver end-to-end BAS solutions.

The role involves selecting components, developing control sequences, and supporting startup and commissioning. Proficiency with BACnet/Modbus and design tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, DDC, or BMS applications engineering.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and control strategies.
• Experience selecting BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and related control hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop BAS/DDC applications and control strategies for commercial HVAC systems.
• Review mechanical plans, specifications, sequences of operation, and project requirements.
• Select controllers, sensors, actuators, and other control system components.
• Develop control sequences, points lists, network architecture, and system layouts.
• Engineer applications for AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, heat pumps, and central plant equipment.
• Create submittals, bills of material, control diagrams, and technical project documentation.
• Support BAS programming, graphics, startup, and commissioning teams throughout project execution.
• Assist with system integrations using BACnet, Modbus, and other open protocols.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot application or system issues as needed.
• Coordinate with customers, consulting engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure solutions meet project requirements.
