The Beverly Hills Hotel, part of Dorchester Collection, is seeking a Barista to deliver exceptional coffee experiences in the Lobby Café. You will operate and maintain espresso equipment, ensure top-quality beverage preparation, and work closely with hotel team members to create a memorable guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of hot drinks service and espresso machine operation.
• Maintain high standards of beverage quality: calibrate machines, grind beans, pull shots.
• Collaborate with bartenders and servers to keep Lobby Café clean and stocked.
• Answer questions about the coffee program and vendor products with enthusiasm.
• Report and help correct any issues affecting the guest experience.
• Maintain open communication with other hotel departments.

What you'll do

A day in the life of a Baristademands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all the tasks that our Baristas accomplish would be lengthy, but the list below is essential to know.

• Our Baristais responsible for all aspects of hot drinks service, including operating and maintaining the espresso machine with care and expertise. They keep their work area clean and organized so that co-workers and management can locate resources and products as needed and ensure that excellent quality and attentive service is delivered to every guest.
• Our Baristamaintains the highest standards of product preparation, including the proper calibration of espresso machines, grinding coffee beans, and the consistent pulling of top-quality espresso shots.
• When needed, our Barista works alongside the bartenders and servers to ensure the Lobby Café is clean, tidy and fully restocked. They are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the espresso machine and its thorough cleaning at the close of each business day, ensuring our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• Sometimes our guests have questions about our coffee program, and our Barista is the expert in the room. They are knowledgeable about our vendor's products and coffee in all their aspects and handle these conversations with genuine enthusiasm and expertise.
• Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Barista is relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Baristamaintains open communication with other departments and the extended hotel team to ensure alignment across the board.
• Our Barista is genuinely passionate about what they do. They represent the Lobby Café and The Beverly Hills Hotel with pride, always upholding the principles, goals and policies of The Beverly Hills Hotel Pledge.
• The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Baristais provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
