Responsibilities

• Ensure guests have an excellent bar experience through setup, maintenance and service.
• Keep the bar fully stocked with glassware, beverages, ice and garnishes.
• Assist with weekly inventory and organize deliveries.
• Cultivate relationships with guests, recognizing in-house and MLA guests.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and special occasions with attention to detail.
• Report and help correct any imperfections in the bar area.
• Maintain open communication with other departments and hotel team.
• Represent The Beverly Hills Hotel with pride and uphold the hotel pledge.

As a Barback at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will be $25.54 per hour.

What you'll do

A day in the life of a Food & Beverage Barback demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all the tasks that our Barbacks accomplish would be lengthy, but the list below is essential to know.

• Our Barbacks are responsible for ensuring our guests have an excellent bar experience throughout their visit. This includes bar setup and maintenance, assisting with all guest and service requests, and upholding our service standards at all times.
• Our Barbacks are responsible for ensuring the bar is fully stocked at all times, including glassware, wine, beer, soda, water, juices, ice and garnishes. It is of utmost importance that the bar is always ready to perform at its best.
• Our Barbacks assist with weekly inventory, keeping track of what is needed and helping to put inventory away upon delivery, ensuring the bar is always well-supplied and organized.
• Our Barbacks play an essential role in cultivating relationships with our guests, including recognizing in-house and MLA guests, ensuring every guest receives nothing but the best experience.
• Sometimes our guests have special requests involving dietary restrictions, drink and garnish preferences, and even special occasions. Our Barbacks assist by ensuring every detail is accounted for with attentiveness and care.
• Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Barbacks are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Barbacks maintain open communication with other departments and the extended hotel team to ensure alignment across the board.
• Our Barbacks are genuinely passionate about what they do. They represent The Beverly Hills Hotel with pride, always upholding the principles, goals and policies of The Beverly Hills Hotel Pledge.

The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, Food & Beverage Barbacks are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
