Job summary

The Beverly Hills Hotel, a Dorchester Collection property, seeks a Barback to join the Supper Club team. You will ensure the bar is stocked, support service excellence, and contribute to a luxury guest experience in a historic landmark of Beverly Hills.

You will work in a fast-paced, high-end environment, communicating with team members and guests, while upholding the brand standards and pledge that define Dorchester Collection. Flexibility in schedule is required.

Responsibilities

• Barbacks keep the bar fully stocked at all times including glassware, wine, beer, soda, water, juices, ice and garnishes.
• Assist with weekly inventory and organize stock after delivery.
• Handle guest requests with attentiveness and discretion, respecting dietary needs and occasions.
• Report imperfections and work with the team to correct issues to maintain luxury standards.
• Maintain open communication with bar, service staff and hotel team to ensure alignment.
• Represent the Beverly Hills Hotel with pride and uphold the Pledge and brand values.

As a Barback at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will be $25.54 per hour.

What you'll do

A day in the life of a Barback demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all the tasks that our Barbacks accomplish would be lengthy, but the list below is essential to know. Our Barbacks ensure the bar is always set up, stocked and running smoothly, supporting the team and upholding the elevated service standards of The Supper Club throughout their shift.

• Barbacks are responsible for ensuring the bar is fully stocked at all times, including glassware, wine, beer, soda, water, juices, ice and garnishes. It is of utmost importance that the bar is always prepared to perform at the highest level.
• Our Barbacks assist with weekly inventory, keeping track of what is needed and helping to put stock away upon delivery, ensuring the bar is always impeccably organized and supplied.
• The Supper Club guests often have specific requests involving dietary restrictions, drink and garnish preferences, and special occasions. Our Barbacks handle these with attentiveness and discretion, ensuring every detail is accounted for.
• Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Barbacks are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Barbacks maintain open communication with the bar team, service staff, and the extended hotel team to ensure everything is perfectly aligned.
• Our Barbacks are genuinely passionate about what they do. They represent The Beverly Hills Hotel with pride, always upholding the principles, goals and policies of The Beverly Hills Hotel Pledge.

The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, Barbacks are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
