Job summary

Churchill Downs Oak Grove is seeking a Banquet Setup team member to coordinate and execute banquet setups before, during, and after events, ensuring spaces are prepared, maintained, and restored to meet event specifications and standards.

The role requires reading BEOs, communicating clearly with guests and team members, and coordinating with supervisors to manage last-minute changes in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in hospitality or events preferred.
• Prior experience with audio visual equipment is a plus.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare and set banquet and meeting rooms according to BEOs, event specifications, guest requests, and Supervisor direction.
• Complete all required event setups and breakdowns in accordance with established standards.
• Ensure all meeting and event spaces are completely set and guest-ready at least 30 minutes prior to start time.
• Respond promptly to requested room or setup changes, with a 15-minute standard response time.
• Set up food and beverage buffet areas as directed or per BEO layout, ready for review by management.
• Refresh meeting breaks, beverage stations, and other service areas at least every 60 minutes or more.
• Maintain clean, organized function rooms, storage areas, equipment areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Store banquet furniture, equipment, linens and supplies following events; follow safety procedures when handling equipment.
• Inspect equipment for proper working conditions and report issues to management.
• Deliver event-related messages or materials promptly per service standards.
• Assist guests and involve a supervisor for additional help or authorization when needed.
• Assist teammates with setup, breakdown, service and other tasks as needed.
• Follow Lost and Found procedures for items discovered in spaces.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
