Job summary

Hoosick Banquet LLC in Troy, NY is seeking a part-time Banquet Bartender to prepare beverages for banquet guests in a prompt and courteous fashion.

The role reports to the Banquet Manager and requires basic reading, writing and math, with specialized knowledge of bartending and drink mixing. Certification as required by state law. Must meet state legal requirements and stand for long periods.

Banquet Bartender prepares beverages for banquet guests in a prompt and courteous fashion while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency to ensure guest satisfaction. Reports directly to the Banquet Manager. The candidate must have basic reading, writing and math skills and specialized knowledge of bartending and mixing drinks. Certification as required by state or local laws. Must meet legal requirements of state. Physical requirements include carrying and lifting items (i.e. plates, utensils, trays, tables) frequently. Speaking, listening, and moving about, usually while standing up for a significant portion of the work shift.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

• Greets guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promotes house drinks and utilizes up -selling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.
• Prepares beverages requested by banquet guests or banquet servers according to standard operating procedures establishing proper portions and ingredients to control costs land provide consistent product to the guest.
• Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
• Sets up portable bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies; inventories beginning and ending liquor and beverages.
• Obtains, counts and secures bartender’s bank; receives cash payments from banquet guests; gives accurate change and balances cash drawer at tend of shift.
