Job summary

The Langham, Chicago is seeking a skilled Banquet Cook to assist the cooks in preparing all food items for events and daily service, using standardized recipes from BEOs and guest checks. You will maintain a clean, organized prep area, store ingredients properly, and support the kitchen team to ensure timely, high-quality dishes for banquets and outlets.

You will work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment with opportunities to grow culinary skills and contribute to exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Prior Line or Banquet cook experience of one year preferred.
• Working knowledge of how to clean and cut vegetables and fruits.
• Must be familiar with classical knife cuts and be able to name all the Mother Sauces and have the knowledge on how to prepare at least 3 of the Mother Sauces.
• High School diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supply assigned workstation with all needed products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
• Prepare all prep work for menu items using standardized recipes and prep lists.
• Store all food in refrigerated boxes with proper labels and dates.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
