Job summary

The Langham Chicago offers a culinary position assisting cooks in preparing items for Food & Beverage outlets and banquets, following standardized recipes and BEOs. You will support prep, ensure proper storage with labeling, and keep the work area clean and sanitary.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of line or banquet cook experience, knife skills, and knowledge of the Mother Sauces, with ability to execute at least three sauces. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of line or banquet cook experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning and cutting vegetables and fruits.
• Familiar with classical knife cuts and able to name all Mother Sauces and prepare at least three of them.

Responsibilities

• Supply the assigned workstation with all needed products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
• Prepare all prep work for menu items using standardized recipes as your guide for the outlets; set up items for banquets per prep lists and BEOs.
• Store all food in refrigerated boxes with proper labeling to protect against waste and spoilage.
• Maintain area in a clean and sanitized condition.
