Hyatt Regency Jersey City is seeking aBanquet Coordinator/Manager to assist the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage in directing and organizing banquet activities. This role focuses on ensuring flawless event execution, proper setup, and excellent guest service while maintaining compliance with safety and corporate standards.

The ideal candidate has hotel experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage time-sensitive functions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage with the management of banquet activities to ensure successful functions and repeat business.
• Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, resolve problems, and communicate with staff; enforce discipline when needed.
• Supervise setup of function rooms and oversee inventory, linens, silver, china, and glassware; supervise cleanup and breakdown.
• Coordinate verbal and written communication with kitchen, service, convention services, engineering, and guest host for timely events and compliance with standards.
• Enter billing information into POS to generate final guest checks; post banquet checks and assist with payroll calculations.
• Check staff attendance, reassign servers as needed, and ensure quality service within deadlines.
• Provide clear direction to staff in writing and verbally; comply with attendance rules and company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
