Job summary

Azul Hospitality's Hotel Theodore in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to oversee all banquet operations, including planning, setup, service and breakdown. The role works closely with Catering, Sales and Culinary teams to ensure events meet client expectations.

You will supervise banquet staff, manage shifts, train team members, review Banquet Event Orders, coordinate with meeting planners, and ensure inventory and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required.
• 1–3 years of high-volume banquet service experience required.
• Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees banquet service operations and events and ensures details are executed.
• Reviews BEOs at shift start to ensure rooms are set as contracted; confirm A/V needs.
• Supervises, coaches, and trains banquet staff; manages shifts and timetables.
• Coordinates with Catering, Sales, and Culinary teams to ensure quality service.
• Communicates with meeting planners to ensure needs are met and any changes are captured.
• Reads menus and ensures appropriate quantities and timing for service.
