Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Banquet Captain to coordinate and supervise banquet service at Marriott Del Mar. You will lead the setup, service plans, and staff, ensuring a seamless guest experience during events in San Diego, CA.

The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while upholding brand standards. A background in hospitality and TIPS/food safety certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in banquets, catering, or food services.
• TIPS certification and Food Safety certification required.
• Background check successful completion prior to employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise banquet service to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Lead banquet setup, including seating, table arrangements, and décor.
• Develop and execute organized service plans for timely delivery.
• Train banquet staff and manage scheduling for events.
• Oversee guest pacing, meal progression, and service flow.
• Track banquet checks for accuracy and financial accountability.
• Maintain inventory and proper storage of banquet equipment.
