Job summary

Cornhusker-Hotel in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Banquet Server to assist the banquet department with coordination and service of food and beverage experiences for guests. You will set up tables with china, silverware and service equipment, maintain quality standards and assist with stations before functions, ensuring smooth, courteous service throughout events.

Requirements include a High School Diploma (preferred), readiness for a role with no prior experience, and flexibility to work varied

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• No experience required; hospitality/customer service experience preferred.
• Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
• Handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and setup preferred.
• Able to obtain Lancaster County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certifications.
• Flexible to work a 24 hour operation with varied schedules.
• Excellent reading/writing/listening and English comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables with china, silverware and service equipment per EO and break down banquet rooms as instructed.
• Maintain quality and service standards per Marcus Hotels & Resorts and Marriott guidelines.
• Prepare coffee and bread stations prior to functions.
• Serve food and beverages according to standards.
• Respond to guest requests or coordinate help from supervisor or manager.
• Communicate with captains, supervisors and managers.
• Keep banquet rooms, public areas and storage areas clean and organized.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and replenish as needed.
• Promote excellent guest rapport by being prompt, courteous, and professional.
