Job summary

Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos is hiring a Cook to prepare and present high-quality dishes across various outlets. You will prep, cook and plate items according to recipes, maintain clean and organized workstations, and support multiple stations as needed, including carving, buffets, deli and steakhouse.

The role requires strong culinary skills, excellent customer service, teamwork, and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent culinary skills and be able to learn and apply training.
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prep, set-up, cook and provide quality service in all areas of food production for all menu items and specials in designated outlets.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Follow guidelines for proper cooling, labeling and storage of products.
• May work in multiple stations (carving, buffets, deli, steakhouse, etc.).
• Read and follow menus/recipes and calculate basic math.
• Communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.
• Arrive in proper uniform and be ready for scheduled shifts.
• Cross-train and assist in related operations as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations related to food handling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
