Shaner Group is seeking a Banquet Captain to oversee banquet operations and uphold safety, quality, and service standards in our facilities. You will train staff, enforce procedures, and address guest issues with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.

The role requires supervisory experience, reading safety procedures, and strong communication skills with guests and colleagues. Qualifications include a high school diploma and ServSafe/TIPS training.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel banquet operations and supervision.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Strong communication with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• ServSafe or food safety training completed.
• Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform math calculations and use measurement tools.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Banquet Department.
• Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
• Establishes, maintains, and trains standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
• Responsible for responding and handling all guest related issues pertaining to the department.
• Ensures communication with Director of Banquets & staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• The Banquet Captain assists in all aspects of the department and must also direct, implement and maintain a service philosophy which serves as a guide for staff while emphasizing quality customer service.
