Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Bankruptcy Case Manager I to organize and monitor bankruptcy accounts, analyze filings, and ensure timely and accurate handling of case milestones. You will prepare proofs of claim, track payments, and coordinate with trustee and counsel to maximize recovery within the bankruptcy plan.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work with multiple systems and teams to support optimal outcomes for our borrowers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Receive, update and review bankruptcy information daily.
• Research accounts using PACER, AIS, trustee sites and internal systems.
• Prepare and file Proofs of Claim and Transfers of Claim with bankruptcy courts by deadlines.
• Ensure correct pre- and post-petition payment tracking in the ILS system.
• Document bankruptcy correspondence pertaining to collateral.
• Monitor payments per the bankruptcy plan, including trustee and post-petition payments.
• Contact trustee or debtor's counsel to facilitate payments.
• Identify issues qualifying for legal action (plan/claim objections, motions).
• Collaborate with Bankruptcy Litigation, Foreclosure, and Loss Mitigation teams.
• Perform discharge reviews for lien release and adjustments.
