Job summary

First Interstate is seeking a Community Market Specialist in Des Moines to partner with branch and market leaders, supporting onboarding readiness, training reinforcement, and performance improvement across locations.

You will identify trends, improve processes, and reduce operational risk while aligning with enterprise initiatives and compliance standards. This role emphasizes coaching, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration to enhance client experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of banking regulations and risk management concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
• Proven accuracy and attention to detail under regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and basic software tools.
• Ability to deliver training and provide real-time feedback to varied levels of experience.
• Understanding of enterprise policies and change management within a large, regulated organization.
• Knowledge of client experience metrics, sales and referral performance indicators.

Responsibilities

• Leads onboarding, role transitions, and development support for new and promoted employees across markets.
• Collaborates with Community Banking leaders to assess talent readiness and performance priorities.
• Conducts branch visits to evaluate execution against standards and provide coaching.
• Provides targeted coaching through observation and reviews to improve accuracy and reduce risk.
• Facilitates regular connections with branch leadership to reinforce initiatives and changes.
• Monitors performance indicators and collaborates on action plans addressing risks.
• Maintains onboarding updates, visit summaries, coaching observations, and action plans.
