Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager in San Diego to lead Bakery Clerks and assist the Bakery Manager in daily department supervision. You will manage ordering, inventory and displays while ensuring product quality and exceptional customer service.

The role requires 18+ with 2+ years in retail grocery and supervision, flexible scheduling including nights and weekends, and adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines. Competitive pay and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including night, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly; positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
• Good communication; able to take and give direction in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• General housekeeping in the department; sanitize work areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Supervise Bakery Clerks and assist in daily bakery operations.
• Oversee ordering and inventory controls and product quality.
• Build displays and rotate merchandise; monitor incoming cases for damage.
• Ensure excellent customer service and quality of bakery products.
• Unload deliveries and operate deli equipment; maintain health and safety guidelines.
