Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to lead Bakery Clerks and assist the Bakery Manager in daily operations. You will drive department merchandising, inventory controls, and product quality while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires 2+ years in retail grocery with supervisory experience, a reliable schedule, and strong communication in a fast-paced team environment. You will uphold safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of two years' retail grocery experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication and the ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.
• Be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in supervising Bakery Clerks and daily operations.
• Manage department merchandising for maximum productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team.
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building displays.
• Monitor in-coming cases for damaged items.
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor product quality.
• Unload deliveries and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure safety, health, and sanitation guidelines are followed.
