Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager in training to join our Purdue Univ store team. You will collaborate with the Bakery Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced bakery, coaching Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew, managing staffing, inventory, quality, and guest satisfaction while stepping up to lead when needed.

You’ll develop leadership skills for future independent bakery management, and contribute to a culture of accountability, efficiency, and exceptional guest

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into bakery roles as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.

Responsibilities

• Partner with your BOM to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback and support.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery needs.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and implement solutions with BOM and Area leadership.
• Foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
