Job summary

Insomnia Cookies in West Lafayette, IN is hiring a Store Manager in Training (MIT) at our Purdue Univ store, offering a path to bakery leadership and a dynamic, guest-focused work environment.

As ABOM you will work with the BOM to build a strong team, manage staffing, inventory, quality and cleanliness, coach hourly teammates, and step up to lead during peak hours while learning to run a bakery with excellence.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style; willingness to jump into bakery roles as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience with BOM.
• Lead the bakery independently in BOM’s absence, keeping team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members with real-time feedback and recognition.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Assist with schedules and labor management to meet bakery needs.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, safety, cleanliness, and execution.
