Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking a Bakery Operations Manager in Detroit to lead a hands-on team, optimize daily bakery operations, and deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will hire, coach, and develop Shift Leaders, Cookie Crew, and Drivers while meeting sales and operational targets.

You'll own scheduling, labor, inventory, and quality controls, ensuring food safety and efficient execution across all shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management or leadership in fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to work a bakery-focused schedule (evenings/weekends).
• Hands-on leadership style with coaching ability.
• A track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining great teams.
• Hospitality-focused with guest-experience emphasis.
• Strong business sense to drive performance and actions.
• Clear communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with restaurant/retail technology and systems.
• Ability to obtain food safety certifications for location.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bakery operations and staffing for each shift.
• Maintain high standards for quality, speed, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Lead scheduling, labor, inventory, and bakery controls.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders, Cookie Crew, and Drivers.
• Drive guest experience, hospitality, and service excellence.
• Achieve sales and KPI targets through proactive action.
• Partner with District Manager on improvements and local marketing.
• Build talent pipeline and growth opportunities within Insomnia Cookies.
