Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking a Bakery Operations Manager to lead a high-energy team in our Ann Arbor store. You’ll hire, coach, and develop staff, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and drive sales and operational results in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll own day-to-day bakery operations, manage scheduling, inventory, and local marketing, and partner with district leadership to optimize performance. This hands-on role offers growth opportunities with Insomnia Cookies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management or leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other fast-paced customer-facing setting.
• Availability to work 2–3 mid-to-late shifts Thu–Sun.
• Hands-on, player-coach leadership style when managing daily operations.
• Track record of hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining great teams.
• Natural hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Strong business acumen and ability to turn goals into action.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort learning and using restaurant/retail technology and business systems.
• Ability to obtain required food safety certifications for the location.
• Ability to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day bakery operation, ensuring each shift is staffed and prepared for success.
• Maintain high standards for cookie quality, speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Own scheduling and labor execution, balancing team and business needs.
• Manage ordering, inventory accuracy, product rotation, shrink, and bakery controls.
• Maintain strong routines and address gaps when standards aren’t met.
