Job summary

Insomnia Cookies in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the Bakery Operations Manager to coach the team, manage staffing, inventory, and ensure quality and cleanliness.

You’ll step up when the BOM is away, lead with hands-on leadership, and help grow the bakery into a high-performing, guest-focused operation that supports Insomnia’s sweet, late-night brand.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to perform bakery roles as needed.
• Must be 18+ and able to obtain food safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with the BOM to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Lead the bakery independently when BOM is away to keep operations running.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew through real-time feedback.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training to build a strong team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet bakery needs.
• Oversee inventory, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for quality, safety, cleanliness, and speed.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance with Area leadership.
