Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Bakery Department Supervisor to lead daily bakery operations in Westminster, MD. You will greet customers, take and decorate orders, and ensure timely production of cakes and pastries while maintaining quality and recipe standards.

You will assist with scheduling, training, and performance recognition, supervise associates, manage inventories, and enforce freshness, rotation, and pricing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s in related field desirable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
• Previous decorating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes customer relations and resolves issues politely.
• Takes orders and decorates cakes, ensuring timely production.
• Decorates bakery products using designs and recipes; prepares icing.
• Assists Bakery Manager in day-to-day operations and training.
• Oversees department inventories and end-of-period logs.
• Assists with scheduling, training, and performance recognition.
• Develops merchandising plans; monitors weekly ads and pricing.
• Verifies deliveries, receipts, and product rotation to ensure freshness.
• Controls department expenses and reduces shrink; ensures proper recipes.
• Keeps bakery well stocked and responsive to customer questions.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh and properly priced with signage.
• May assist in production of breads and pastries.
• Maintains smooth workflow and PPE usage; supports other departments when needed.
