Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Bakery Manager to oversee bakery operations, lead a fast-paced team, and ensure exceptional customer service in a busy store environment. You will manage production, inventory, displays, safety, and staff development, while driving sales and maintaining Sprouts standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to quality and customer experience in a retail bakery setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude towards staff and customers.
• Good communication and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Stand for up to 3 hours at a time; handle heavy lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
• Knowledge of personnel reports, margins, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bakery output, production, and display.
• Supervise product quality, monitor inventory, and manage the bakery budget.
• Evaluate department operations and implement improved practices and procedures.
• Ensure safety, proper food handling, sanitation, and productivity.
• Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage.
• Rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing, merchandising, and labor per Sprouts standards.
• Plan and order to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Engage and develop team members with coaching and performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings and participate regularly.
• Recruit, hire and promote in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Address team concerns with independent judgment; take corrective actions as needed.
• Adjust schedules to maximize productivity; communicate standards and product knowledge.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and service; act as Key Carrier or MOD as needed.
