Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Bakery Maintenance technician for the 2nd shift in Salina, KS. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with an additional $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m. to 6 a.m.

This full-time role involves maintaining conveyors, ovens, mixers, and packaging equipment to keep production lines running smoothly. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with a 2-year specialized maintenance trade degree preferred, and 0–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Completes work orders and records paperwork in a computer system.
• Lifts and handles objects up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment (conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging machines).
• Follow food safety rules and use proper cleaning procedures and materials.
• Handle emergency repairs to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability for repairs.
• Always work safely, follow OSHA regulations and keep work area clean and organized.
