Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time, 2nd shift in a food manufacturing environment in Salina, KS. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour, with a $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m. to 6 a.m., and hours from 3:00 p.m.

to 11:30 p.m. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines; following food safety rules and OSHA regulations; and managing spare parts and tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a two-year specialized maintenance trade degree is preferred.
• 0–2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment such as conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smoothly.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using proper cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to stay in code.
• Handle emergency repairs quickly to minimize downtime during production.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability when maintenance is needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA regulations and keeping the area clean according to company rules.
