Job summary

Asali-Desserts-and-Cafe in North Carolina is seeking a friendly Bakery Sales Associate to join our team. You will assist guests with bakery purchases, take custom cake orders, prepare beverages, and maintain a clean, welcoming café environment.

You will greet guests, recommend cakes and desserts, process POS sales, relay order details to the bakery, restock displays, and support daily store operations while delivering warm hospitality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, bakery, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash and credit card transactions.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.

• Willingness to learn about Asali's products and provide knowledgeable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide knowledgeable recommendations on cakes, pastries, desserts, beverages, and seasonal offerings.
• Process customer purchases accurately using the POS system.
• Take cake and dessert orders, recording flavors, sizes, inscriptions, pickup dates, and special requests; relay details to bakery staff.
• Promote featured products and add-on sales.
• Open/close bakery and maintain a clean front-of-house and dining area.
