Job summary

Lowes Foods in Cary, NC seeks a bakery team member to provide friendly guest service and support bakery department activities. You will greet guests, prepare baked goods for sale, weigh and price items, and maintain freshness and sanitation across coolers and prep areas.

Responsibilities include assisting with cake decorating, reporting guest requests, and communicating temperature changes to supervision, while keeping the area neat and running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (baking, weighing, and pricing).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness.
• Perform clerk function of cake decorating when requested.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keeps supply area neat, clean and tidy at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform front end duties to ensure no noticeable wait.
• Announce specials and sale info on PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
