Job summary

Levain Bakery in New York City is seeking a General Manager to oversee all operations, including retail, baking production, and overall financial health of the bakery. You will provide on-ground leadership to ensure high standards, growth, and profitability while maintaining Levain’s core values.

The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving, decision-making and leadership skills, with the ability to grow the bakery’s footprint and maintain exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or relevant field of study preferred
• Minimum 4-5 years of food service, QSR, or retail experience, with at least 2-3 years of management experience
• Adept knowledge of Toast POS system
• Open availability: ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work 50 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery staff and shift operations, including management of bakery, retail, and production areas
• Uphold DEI principles and foster an inclusive store culture
• Resolve conflicts, coach staff, and drive performance development
• Manage budget, P&L, costs, and weekly business analysis
• Develop sales strategies to reduce waste, optimize labor, and increase revenue
• Establish relationships with suppliers and community partners
