Job summary

Levain Bakery in New York City is seeking a Baker Team Leader to oversee shifts, supervise team members, and uphold the highest standards of bread and pastry quality. You will collaborate with General Managers to maintain consistency across products and lead by example on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has deep baking knowledge, strong problem-solving instincts, and a track record of motivating and coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead with curiosity and compassion, building connections with co-workers.
• Set shift tone with a positive, can-do attitude and supervise team members.
• Provide mentorship through feedback and coaching; drive training for Bakers and new hires.
• Improve product knowledge and baking skills through ongoing training sessions.
• Delegate station assignments and ensure adherence to procedures and safety standards.
• Oversee baking quality, monitor times/temps, and ensure consistency of outputs.
• Manage inventory and daily pars; coordinate with management on catering/pre-orders.
