Job summary

Levain Bakery in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager on bakery operations, guest service, and financial health. You will lead shifts, coach a diverse team, ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, and help drive daily decisions with empathy and accountability.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in food service or retail with supervisory experience, is proficient with Toast POS, and can work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery staff including shift leads, bakers, and retail team members.
• Model DEI principles and uphold inclusive practices in operations.
• Facilitate clear verbal and written communication with team, customers, and management.
• Resolve conflicts and coach team members for development.
• Manage team performance through coaching and development opportunities.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed, orders fulfilled accurately, and safety standards met.
• Oversee cash reconciliations, time sheets, payroll, and inventory accuracy.
• Delegate restocking, cleaning, and organizational tasks to the team.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to reduce costs and increase revenue.
• Review P&L with General Manager to identify success and opportunities.
